East Central Wins Sectional Title; Several Area Wrestlers Move to Regionals

South Dearborn and Jennings County hosted Sectional matches on Saturday.

(Aurora, Ind.) – Area high school grapplers took to the mat on Saturday for the start of the IHSAA Wrestling State Tournament. 

South Dearborn and Jennings County played host to schools in southeastern Indiana. 

At South Dearborn, it was the East Central Trojans that came away as team champions. The Trojans totaled 222 points, finishing just ahead of Franklin County and Milan, who tied for second with 215 points. Rushville and Batesville rounded out the top five schools out of the 10 that competed.  

Switzerland County placed 4th overall at the Jennings County Sectional. Five Pacers qualified for the Regional Round. 

The top four placers from each weight class move on to Regional.
