(St. Leon, Ind.) – Another East Central High School football star has committed to a D-I school.
On Monday, soon to be senior running back and wide receiver Ryan Brotherton announced his commitment to Western Michigan University.
Brotherton (6’4”) broke onto the scene during his sophomore season when he totaled 619 rushing yards, 452 receiving yards, and 14 total touchdowns.
His numbers were even more impressive last fall when he helped the Trojans win the IHSAA Class 4A State Championship.
As a junior, Brotherton caught 35 passes for 859 yards and 11 touchdowns. He added 698 rushing yards and three scores.
For his efforts, Brotherton was named to the IFCA Class 4A Junior All-State Team.
Brotherton, who is listed as an athlete on the 247 Sports recruiting page, chose Western Michigan over the likes of Army, Ball State, Eastern Michigan, and Southeast Missouri State.
According to a tweet from Brotherton, WMU is recruiting him as a tight end.
Brotherton is the second Trojan to commit to a D-I school this spring. Josh Ringer recently committed to Miami (Oh.). Together, they make up one of the most productive duos in the state of Indiana.
