Eight ORVC Student-Athletes Earn Weekly Honors to Start Fall Sports Season

(Vevay, Ind.) - Eight student-athletes have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference.

The first ORVC Report (August 5-24) of the fall season was released on Wednesday.

Cooper Todd was named the ORVC Boys Soccer Player of the Week. The Switzerland County star scored eight goals and assisted on three more in two wins for the Pacers.

The ORVC Girls Soccer Players of the Week are Cassidy Derico (Milan), Justice Kuntz (Shawe), and Emma Parsons (Switzerland County).

Derico earned weekly honors by scoring six goals in two matches. Kuntz tallied four goals and six assists in three matches, while Parsons scored five goals and assisted five times in three matches.

Switzerland County’s Bri Stow is the ORVC Girls Golfer of the Week. Stow carded a 57 at North Branch and a 47 at Belterra.

In cross country, Mason Bascom (South Ripley) and Savannah Nussbaum (Southwestern) were the top runners of the week. Bascom had a time of 19:18 at Southwestern Shelbyville, while Nussbaum finished in 21:47 at the same meet.

Southwestern’s Harlee Hill took home ORVC Volleyball Player of the Week after tallying 34 kills, 11 aces, and a near perfect serve percentage in six matches.
