Former Batesville Star Michael Menser Named To 2022 Silver Anniversary Team

Menser was an Indiana All-Star and runner-up for Mr. Basketball in 1997.

(New Castle, Ind.) – A former Batesville High School basketball star has been named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame’s 2022 Silver Anniversary Team.

Michael Menser is among 18 players recognized for their accomplishments as a senior basketball player 25 years ago.

Menser was a 1997 Indiana All-Star, runner-up for Mr. Basketball and consensus 1st Team All-State selection by the Associated Press, Indiana Basketball Coaches Association, Indianapolis Star, and Bloomington Herald-Times.

The Bulldogs star set several school records, including career points (1,700), assists (414), and free throw percentage (87 percent).

Following high school, Menser had a terrific career at Indiana State University, where he se the school record for most made three-pointers (283).

Menser currently serves as assistant principal at Plainfield High School.

The 2022 Men’s Silver Anniversary Team members will be honored at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame’s 60th Men’s Awards Banquet on March 23, 2022.

A midday reception at the Hall of Fame museum in New Castle is free and open to the public.
