INDIANAPOLIS - Twelve high school football stars from southeastern Indiana have earned All-State honors.
On Saturday, the Indiana Football Coaches Association released their 2024 All-State Teams.
Lawrenceburg senior linebacker Noah Knigga earned the top honor among local players by being named to the Top 50 All-State Team.
The three-star Eastern Michigan signee led the Tigers in tackles this season with 111, including 25 for a loss.
Four East Central Trojans earned All-State honors in Class 5A. Offensive lineman Wyatt Smith, linebacker Carson Pieczonka, and defensive back Gavin Berting were named to the 5A Senior All-State Team. Sophomore running back Ryan Minges made the Junior All-State Team.
Pieczonka was among the Trojans' leading tacklers this season with 56, including 4.5 for a loss. He also had 2.5 sacks and three interceptions. Berting made 22 tackles and two interceptions. He also starred on special teams as EC's top kickoff returner with 569 yards. Smith helped anchor an offensive line that paved the way for 2,623 rushing yards, including 1,517 from Minges (25 TDs).
Batesville seniors Gage Pohlman (RB) and Max Amberger (DL) made the 3A Senior All-State Team. Both played a key role in helping the Bulldogs reach the semi-state. Pohlman rushed for 1,306 yards and 11 touchdowns. Amberger recorded 70 tackles, including eight tackles for a loss and three sacks.
Franklin County junior wide receiver Carter Dozier earned selection to the Class 3A Junior All-State Team. He caught 30 passes for 474 yards and six touchdowns. Dozier is joined on the 3A Junior All-State Team by fellow EIAC star Brady Ballart. The South Dearborn junior linebacker and University of Louisville commit had a team-high 76 tackles (14 TFL),
Leading the area with four All-State selections is the Milan Indians. Wideout Dylan Offill and offensive lineman Landon Stanley made the 1A Senior All-State Team, while quarterback Wyatt Marsh and tight end Grant Langferman were Junior All-State honorees.
Offill caught 51 passes for 656 yards and four touchdowns. Stanley played a key role for a Milan offensive line that paved the way for 2,450 rushing yards this season.
Marsh had a solid junior campaign, passing for 1,976 yards and 19 touchdowns. Langferman was among his top targets, catching 32 passes for 535 yards and six touchdowns.
