(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Landon Cole is a three sports star at Rising Sun High School, but baseball is the game he will play at the collegiate level.
Cole made his announcement via Twitter on National Signing Day this past Wednesday, committing to Franklin College.
I am excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Franklin College! I want to say thank you to all my coaches, family and friends that have helped me get here over the years. Go Grizzlies! @FCGrizBaseball @JakeSprinkle19 @rsshiners pic.twitter.com/UOllYpOYlj

On the baseball diamond, Cole hit .416 as a sophomore with two home runs, 35 RBIs, and 26 runs scored. He only struck out four times in 95 plate appearances. Cole, an outfielder, played well defensively as well with a fielding percentage of .925. He also went 2-2 on the mound.
Cole's junior season was cancelled due to COVID-19, but the senior still has a high school season to play before embarking to Franklin College.
Baseball is not the only sport Cole thrives at. He is Rising Sun's all-time leading goal scorer in boys soccer, and a standout on the basketball floor.
Cole is also a scholar in the classroom, carrying a 4.0 GPA. In December, he was awarded with the 2021 Lilly Endowment Scholarship, receiving full tuition to the Indiana College or university of his choice.
