FRIDAY, JANUARY 25

 

BOYS BASKETBALL

South Ripley 48, Lawrenceburg 45 – Cody Samples hit a tie-breaking three-point shot with seconds to go to help South Ripley get the win. Samples finished with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Aaron Greiwe added 14 for the Raiders. Lawrenceburg’s Gavin Yoon had 16 points and 3 rebounds.

Columbus East 81, East Central 57

Rushville 70, South Dearborn 60 – Isaiah Jefferson put in 17 points for South Dearborn.

Batesville 56, North Decatur 51

Rising Sun 54, Shawe Memorial 32 – Noah Pflum exploded for 23 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals in the Rising Sun victory. Nick Koons added 15 points and 4 rebounds for the Shiners.

Oldenburg Academy 43, Jac-Cen-Del 31 – Jake Johnson led OA with 16 points, 8 rebounds, a blocked shot, and 4 steals. Zach Wegman had 10 points and 9 boards. Neal had 9 to lead JCD while Brandon Baber scored 7.

New Washington 72, Switzerland County 57 – Dalton Tingle scored 22 for Switz, with Tyler Konkle scoring 12 and Damian Breeck 10.

Talawanda (Ohio) 72, Franklin County 47

Rising Sun 70, Waldron 47 – Nick Koons starred with 19 points for the Shiners. Wesley Rider had 13 points off the bench.

Milan 82, Switzerland County 66 – Eagle Country 99.3 Feature Game – Milan’s Orrin Schmidt scored 18 points to get the Indians the win. Dalton Tingle led Switz with 26 points.

Oldenburg Academy 34, Heritage Christian 31 – Jake Johnson had 14 points and Andrew Oesterling scored 11 for Oldenburg.

 

SWIMMING & DIVING

East Central boys win Centerville Invitational to complete undefeated regular season

The East Central AquaTrojans spent their Saturday in a six-team meet at the Centerville Invitational, swimming away with the victory. Team scoring: East Central 381, Centerville 223, Milan 216, Heritage Christian 186, Hagerstown 131, South Dearborn 63. The AquaTrojans clinch their second straight undefeated regular season. EC’s Jackson Ketcham was voted the meet MVP.

East Central’s event winners included: Jackson Ketcham (200 Free, 100 Fly), Ray Krider (200 IM), Nick Weber (50 Free), Jacob Weber (100 Free), Ethen Witte (500 Free), Jacob Weber (100 backstroke), 200 Free Relay (Krider, Matthew, Witte, Badinghaus), 200 Medley Relay (Weber, Ketcham, Weber, Witte), and 400 Free Relay (Badinghaus, Ketcham, Weber, Weber).
