BOYS BASKETBALL
South Dearborn 62, Rising Sun 61 – Eagle Country 99.3 Feature Game – South Dearborn made it four straight wins over Rising Sun with a thrilling win in the season opener. Rising Sun led the entire second half until Knights guard Alex Shackelford was fouled on a layup attempt with 0.8 of a second remaining in the fourth quarter. Shackelford went to the free throw line and hit two free throws to give SD a 62-61 lead. The Shiners could not get a final shot off in time. Shackelford finished with 21 points – all scored in the second half. Rising Sun was led by Nick Koons with 23 points.

Lawrenceburg 42, Switzerland County 30 – Gavin Yoon led Lawrenceburg to the win with 24 points and three rebounds. Switz’s Damon Breeck had 10 points, five rebounds and three steals. Lawrenceburg shot 43 percent from the field, compared to just 27.5 percent for Switzerland County.
Milan 62, Franklin County 43
Jac-Cen-Del 44, South Ripley 38 – Brandon Baber had 19 points for Jac-Cen-Del, helping the Eagles win the annual Turkey Shootout.
