IHSAA 3A Sectional 12 at Mount Vernon (Fortville) – First Round
East Central 10, Richmond 0 – Jared Tiemann, Evan Spangler, and Cameron Bergman eash kicked two goals for EC. East Central goes on to the sectional semi-finals, where they will play Mount Vernon on Wednesday, October 3.

IHSAA 1A Sectional 46 at Jac-Cen-Del – First Round
Rising Sun 2, Switzerland County 0 – Landon Cole and Jake Bovard each had a goal for Rising Sun. Brayden Bush made an assist. Jordan Parsons tallied two saves as goalkeeper. The Shiners advance to play Southwestern in the sectional semi-finals on Wednesday, October 3.
Southwestern 2, Jac-Cen-Del 1 overtime – Blake Simon scored JCD’s only goal. Jac-Cen-Del’s season ends with a record of 10-6-1.

IHSAA Regional at Richmond – Semi-Final
East Central 3, Connersville 2 – East Central moves on to the regional championship to play Richmond for the right to go to semi-state.
GIRLS SOCCER
IHSAA 3A Sectional 12 at Greenfield-Central – First Round
Richmond 1, East Central 0 - EC keeper Jessica Shipman made 2 saves. The Trojans’ season ends with an 11-5 record.
IHSAA 2A Sectional 27 at Batesville – First Round
Batesville 5, Franklin County 0 – Batesville won their postseason opener thanks in part to two goals from Hailey Mohr. Liz Heidlage, Lauren Gutzwiller and Catherine Raab each added a goal. Georgia Gratz, Carlie Werner, Gutwiller, and Ashley Nobbe were credited with assists. Batesville advances to play Lawrenceburg in the sectional semi-finals on Thursday, October 4.
IHSAA 1A Sectional 46 at Rising Sun – First Round
Oldenburg Academy 4, South Ripley 0 – Oldenburg moves on to the sectional semi-finals. They will play against Rising Sun on Thursday, October 4.
VOLLEYBALL
Batesville 3, South Dearborn 0 – 25-20, 25-10, 25-17 – Batesville’s Hattie Westerfeld posted 10 kills, 2 blocks, and an ace. Jenna Ertel made 12 digs with and ace and a kill.
