(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Lawrenceburg native Mason Parris has added another piece of hardware to his trophy case.
The University of Michigan junior won a freestyle championship at 275 pounds at the USA Wrestling 2020 Senior National Championships on Sunday.
Parris went 5-0 at the event, defeating Arizona State’s Tanner Hall in the championship round.
This was the first major event that Parris has competed at since the NCAA Tournament was cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns.
As a sophomore, Parris went 28-1. His only loss came in the Big 10 Tournament Final to No. 1 Gable Steveson of Minnesota.
