Milan, South Ripley, Switzerland Co. Stars Highlight First ORVC Report of Fall Season

The ORVC Report for August 8-20 was released Wednesday.

(Vevay, Ind.) - The fall sports season is here and student-athletes in the Ohio River Valley Conference are already showing out. 

The ORVC Report for August 8-20 was released on Wednesday. 

Switzerland County junior Halle Archer is the ORVC Girls Soccer Player of the Week. The Lady Pacers star scored nine goals and assisted on two others over three matches. Due to her stellar play, Archer has been nominated for the MaxPreps Indiana HS Athlete of the Week. 

The ORVC Boys Soccer Players of the Week are Switzerland County's Cooper Tood and Shawe Memorial's Jacob Hertz. Todd tallied six goals and four assists in two matches, while Hertz scored eight times and assisted on four more goals over four matches. 

South Ripley's Brionna Linkel and Shawe Memorial's Emmalina Leatherman are the ORVC Volleyball Players of the Week. 

In boys cross country, Milan's Ben Riehle earned Runner of the Week with strong finishes at Rising Sun (17:51) and Southwestern Shelbyville (17:23). Shawe's Calli Alderson is the ORVC Girls Runner of the Week. 

The top golfer from August 8-20 was Shawe's Kira Wells. She carded a 96 at the Madison Invitational, 48 at Butler Falls, and two rounds of 48 at Sunrise.
