(Oldenburg, Ind.) - Five swimmers from Oldenburg Academy recently set a new school record.

The team of Nash King, Santiago Schutte, Sully Hill, and Noah Schenk recent set a new school record in the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.

At the Madison Invite on January 6, the quartet recorded a time of 1:52.17 in the 200 Medley, breaking the previous record time of 1:53.51. King completed the backstroke portion of the race while Schutte performed the breaststroke, Hill took on the butterfly, and Schenk went freestyle.

Their splits were 25.63, 29.56, 30.44 and 26.54.

“All the boys contributed to a drop in time from their previous swim at Richmond earlier this year where they finished in 1:56.71(26.43, 30.24, 31.98 and 28.06 respectively).” said OA swim coach Jerry Fry

Just a week later at the South Dearborn Invite, Schenk, Schutte and King were joined by Albert Hudepohl on the 400 Yard Freestyle team. Together, they completed the race in 3:48.04, breaking the previous record of 3:56.68.

“All their hard work is paying off!!! We’re very proud of every swimmer’s determination to individually improve and work together to win as a team!” added Fry.
