ORVC Names 2022-23 Boys Basketball All-Conference Team

Five of the seven teams in the conference are still alive in postseason play.

(Osgood, Ind.) – The 2022-23 ORVC Boys Basketball All-Conference Team was released on Thursday.

Highlighting the all-conference team is seven players from Southwestern and Jac-Cen-Del, the co-champions of the ORVC.

For the Eagles, their top three scorers of Devin Greishop (14.5 PPG), Matt Dickman (11.6 PPG), and Seth Drockelman (8.8 PPG) made all-conference. Jac-Cen-Del hopes to keep their season alive on Friday night when they take on Waldron in the Sectional 60 semifinals at Edinburgh.

Rising Sun is led by three all-conference selections Dylan Martin, Peyton Merica, and Brady Works. All three finished the regular season among the top scorers in the conference. Rising Sun will play Crothersville in the Sectional 62 semifinals at New Washington on Friday.

For Milan, Micah Norman and Ben Riehle were selected to the all-conference team. Norman is averaging 11.1 points per game, while Riehle provides 9.9 points per game. The Indians will face off with Hauser in the Sectional 45 semifinals at South Ripley on Friday.

The host Raiders will take on North Decatur. They are led by Cole Henry and Blaine Ward. Henry led the conference in scoring (19.2 PPG) and rebounding (8.8 RPG), while Ward finished the regular season as the fifth-best scorer in the conference at 15.4 points per game.

Switzerland County had one all-conference selection in Jacob Williams. The Pacers star averaged 15.4 points per game and was third in the conference in assists with 82.

The Mental Attitude Award went to Rising Sun senior Peyton Merica.

The ORVC Co-Coaches of the Year are Clint Bohman (JCD) and Zac Nussbuam (Southwestern).
