South Ripley's Cole Sets Another School Record, Earns ORVC Weekly Honors

(Versailles, Ind.) – It was another school record that propelled South Ripley High School’s Megan Cole to Ohio River Valley Conference weekly honors.

The ORVC report for the week of September 10-15 was released Wednesday.

Cole recorded a time of 19:13 at a multi-team meet at South Dearborn. Her time was over a minute better than Switzerland County’s Leah Anders (20:37), setting a new South Ripley High School record in cross country and earning ORVC Girls Runner of the Week.

The ORVC’s Boys Runner of the Week is Bradley Winston. The Southwestern star clocked in at 16:41 at the South Dearborn Meet.

South Ripley’s Elexah Roepke and Southwestern’s Abby Ralston are ORVC Co-Volleyball Players of the Week.

Roepke recorded 25 kills, 10 digs, four aces and completed 87 percent of her serves and 79 percent of her passes in two matches.

For Ralston, she had 20 KA’s, 10 digs, four aces, 100 percent serve, 99 percent set and 96 percent passing last week.

Jac-Cen-Del’s Jacob Jines is the ORVC Boys Soccer Player of the Week. The Eagles star scored four goals and assisted on another in two matches. On the girl’s side, Southwestern’s Cadence Humes was the player of the week.

The ORVC Girls Golfer of the Week went to Shawe Memorial’s Katie Hertz, who qualified for the IHSAA Girls Golf Regional. The Southwestern Lady Rebels will also advance to the regional this Saturday.
