Switz. Co. Wins Sectional Title in Dramatic Fashion; OA and Batesville Advance

All three will play in their respective regional title games on Saturday.

(Versailles, Ind.) - Three area schools are moving on to the regional round of the IHSAA Boys Basketball State Tournament. 

On Saturday night, Batesville, Oldenburg Academy, and Switzerland County won their respective sectional titles. The Pacers' win was the most dramatic of the three as junior Cam Craig made the game-winning basket with 1.8 second to defeat Hauser by a score of 58-57. 

The win gave Switzerland County their first sectional title since 2013.

Craig finished the game with 17 points, while Jacob Williams poured in a game-high 24 points for the Pacers. Kadyn Riley also came up big with eight points.

Switzerland County (15-10) will take on Forest Park (17-9) on Saturday at the Seymour Regional. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. The game will air on WIKI Country 95.3. 

Batesville will also play at Seymour on Saturday. The Bulldogs (20-5) will take on #4 Scottsburg (21-5) after defeating Lawrenceburg in the Class 3A Sectional 29 championship by a score of 44-36. Hot shooting from behind the arc aided the Bulldogs in victory. They shot 8-of-14 from downtown, including three made 3's and a game-high 15 points from Sam Johnson. Gus Prickel added nine points and Trenton Luers had eight. 

The Batesville and Scottsburg regional championship game is scheduled to tipoff at 4:00 p.m.

In Class 1A, Oldenburg Academy defeated Jac-Cen-Del 47-36 in the Sectional 60 title game, avenging a loss to the Eagles in last year's championship tilt. The Twisters (13-11) will take on #13 Greenwood Christian (17-7) on Saturday at the Martinsville Regional. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
